The year - 1994.
The event - Shadow Productions started filing federal taxes.
When I was in college, I had a dog. A black shepherd (of some kind). Her name was Shadow. What a fitting tribute I thought to name our production company after her. Now, I can mention to you great dog qualities – loyal, trustworthy and devoted. All admirable traits for sure! Who wouldn’t want to work with a production company with these values? The truth is, I just liked the name.
I started my career as a videotape editor, among other things. I worked in a small studio and everybody did just about everything. Looking back, it was a good place to cut my teeth. I apprenticed under the studio owner for years. To this day, he is still the most gifted cinematographer I know.
Well, that was 20+ years ago. Now Shadow Productions has offices in Atlanta and New York. We develop and produce content for a wide range of clients. We have had a lot of fun and have been asked to direct and shoot all over the world. We love what we do and are fortunate to work with artisans who are loyal, trustworthy and devoted.
…….and yes, I still miss that dog.
